Sermon

Rev. Dr. Kent Webber

Responding to the Gospel with Believing Obedience
2022 Spring Sermon Series (Eastertide): Church 8.0

  • How does Paul relate the gospel/good news to both God the Creator and Jesus Christ?
  • Paul tells us he was “set apart” for the gospel and “sent out” to share it with others. He also says this message was given “to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles.” What do you think about the way Dietrich Bonhoeffer connects “faith and obedience” in both his writings and in his life? How is obedience an important ingredient of your faith in Christ?
  • How do you react to the latter half of Paul’s statement that “the righteousness of God is revealed in the gospel through faith for faith” which many interpret to mean “through God’s faithfulness for our faith”?
