Questions for Reflection
- Jesus charges the apostles to “go and make disciples.” How is the term “apprentice” perhaps a better description for what it means to learn about Jesus than the designation of a disciple?
- Dale states that the Church has always made teaching integral to its existence, but it has not been good at training people how to live and love like Jesus. What activity, practice, or life experience has contributed the most to your sense of being “trained” as a follower of Jesus?
- To someone who proclaims faith in Jesus, but whose actions do not support such a claim, the author James says their faith is dead or useless. How would you describe the relationship of behavior or deeds to our professed faith as a Christian?
