Questions for Reflection

  • In what way does Paul’s exhortation that *prayers be made for everyone* and *Jesus gave himself as a ransom for all* challenge your prayer life and/or your presentation of the gospel?
  • Can you think of ways the American Church in general is in danger of misrepresenting God by advocating values which are contrary to the gospel?
  • One slogan that attempts to get at what church should be about is “love God, love your neighbor, prove it.” Do you think this is an adequate summary of what is most essential about church? If so, how so? If not, why not?
