I was born and raised in Sonoma County. I grew up watching my mom serve and love people in all facets of her life from her career working with the elderly to running a ministry that reached out to the homeless in downtown Santa Rosa. She instilled in me that sharing the love of Jesus with people is one of the most important things you can do.
When I was 20 years old I moved to Los Angeles to intern at a large inner city church. I apprenticed under the Children’s Ministry Director where I got the opportunity to help run the Children’s Ministry. This involved running 3 services a week and going out into the neighborhoods of LA on a bus to invite families to come to church with us. I also got to lead worship for the kids at all 3 services. Getting the kids excited about worshipping God is something I’ll never forget.
I met my husband Eric while working there, and in 2008 we got married and moved back to Sonoma County. We first came to First Pres. in 2014 when Eric was hired to play guitar on the worship team. Our girls got involved with the Children’s Ministry and quickly felt right at home. I had been working at a shelter for teens in crisis for the last 10 years, but my heart for ministry never changed, and I am so grateful that God has opened the door for me to work in Children’s Ministry here at First Pres.
When I’m not working I can be found being a busy mom, taking my girls to gymnastics and piano lessons, and spending time at the beach or the river when the weather is nice.
