As Christians we find throughout our lives that our most fervent prayers may not be answered in the manner we hoped. Does this mean our prayers are unanswered? Sometimes we are told that God has answered our prayers with “No!” Is that it? Where is God as we suffer the pain and confusion that accompany our journeys through grief and even despair? These questions form the basis of our next Adult Education class drawn from The Prayer Course II: Unanswered Prayer, an offering from 24-7 Prayer International. The videos presented by Pete Greig, author of God on Mute, and Gemma Hunt, a media personality, trace the suffering of Jesus through Maundy Thursday (How?), Good Friday ( Why?), Holy Saturday (Where?) and Easter morning (When?). Peter and Gemma and their guests share experiences from their own lives, relevant scriptures, and discussion meant to help us find God in the midst of our sufferings. Please join Allie Shoulders and Bev Swift for the four weeks beginning September 26th as we watch the videos and discuss what this might mean in our own lives and in the life of the Church.
No advance preparation is necessary other than we would like to invite you to read through the scripture that will be covered before class.
