Chimney Rock will be our first stop and is a 1.75 mile out-and-back trail that is generally rated as easy. The gray whale migration will be close to peaking and sightings are likely and if we are lucky, we may also see Tule elk. If we do not see elephant seals at our first stop, we will move on to Elephant Seal Overlook, Drakes Beach or Point Reyes North Beach, depending on parking. If time allows, we hope to go to Point Reyes Lighthouse Visitor Center and Observation Deck. The walk to the Lighthouse Visitor Center is .45 miles one way and the optional walk to the lighthouse another 300+ steps down.
Bring a lunch, water, warm clothes, and binoculars. Bruce Purcell will be our guide and can answer any questions you may have about the itinerary (purcell8@sonic.net, 707-293-5781). Click on this link to sign up and reserve a seat in the church van: https://fpcsantarosa.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/260/responses/new or contact Allie Shoulders (allie@fpcsantarosa.org, 707-890-8010). We hope you can join us for this fun adventure to connect with others in the First Presbyterian community and with God’s beautiful creation!
